Para los interesados en Workflows, el día de ayer en La Cofradía anunciaron la liberación de la primera versión de pruebas de IXMATI.

Ixmati es un Business Process Manager con Workflow integrado, escrito en PHP 5 usando PostgreSQL como base de datos principal, pero pudiéndose adaptar a otras bases de datos.

Ixmati tiene capacidad de flujo de tareas, flujo de subprocesos, asignaciones automáticas, acciones determinadas durante un flujo como alarmas, correos, y cambios en la base de datos; también tiene soporte para documentos virtuales.

Ixmati tiene soporte para usuarios y grupos de usuarios, por lo que una tarea puede estar en cola de trabajo de una persona o de un grupo de personas. Lo usuarios pueden participar en varios procesos distintos sin afectar el flujo de trabajo.

El sistema de plugins permite poder agregar capacidades nuevas a Ixmati.

Desde que Google propuso prevenir los comentarios spam en weblogs, foros, wikis, etc., usando rel="nofollow" también se ha estado escuchando mucho sobre TrustRank una tecnología propuesta en Standford por Zolt´an Gyongyi, Hector Garcia-Molina y Jan Pedersen este último de Yahoo!

Esta grafica ilustra muy bien una semana tipica de un estudiante de doctorado... Marcela o Cuahutemoc podran tener una mejor opinion al respecto :)

Me acabo de enterar que la empresa China, Giordon Audio Alarm Equipment, dedicada al comercialización de sistemas de seguridad y de audio para autos, esta utilizando tal cual el logotipo del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social. Solo modificaron el color, del verde original a rojo y agregándole una "R" de Marca registrada.

¿Qué les parece esto?

We are an electronic product manufacturer established in year 1994, 2years after our establishment we invited an advertising company to design a logo for us, which should be related to our brand name EAGLE, an image of power and capability for our car alarm system. Then this logo was born and registered as our sole company logo till now. We were not notified even when we did registration in China and over 10 countries worldwide that this logo has been occupied. Our managing board would not choose this logo if know this logo is in use already. We admit we lack ability in our logo identification.
We must say thanks to all of you for your soonest information, especial Jaime who is the first one we receive message from on Jan.24 morning. From that moment, we tried to contact with that advertising company, unfortunately we were confirmed that company stopped running for years. We couldn't question them what's the matter with this logo.
But for sure, we, Giordon, never intend to use same logo as others, it's no good to our business. In the past 8years we spend a lot of time and cost in building our company image with this logo. We won't waste like this if we have been knowing the fact. As a capable manufacturer, we pay close attention to our image as much as our product quality.
We feel sorry that such unexpected coincidence actually happened to us! What we can do now is to hold any of our products with this logo from Mexican market. Although we will lose a lot from this action, we still have great willingness to protect IMSS's copyright in Mexico. We guarantee this!

Siemens ha desarrollado algo que llaman graffiti electrónico y consiste en un sistema para poder anclar mensajes SMS a un determinado punto geográfico. Cuando la persona llega a ese punto recibe el mensaje.

In the future, mobile phone users will be able to leave messages anywhere in the form of what might be termed electronic post-its. They will be able to post virtual messages referring to a specific location wherever they are needed. Siemens researchers have now created the technical basis and the computer programs for this “digital graffiti service.” The Siemens Corporate Technology’s research laboratory in Munich under the directorion of Dieter Kolb developed computer programs that assign cell phone messages to specific locations. The user can leave a message, known as a digital graffito, at any geographical point. This is a kind of SMS attached to one spot. When the recipient reaches the defined point, the message appears on his or her display.
